  1. I had lasik in Canada and it was reasonably priced. It did not hurt at all-They numbed the eye before surgery. I had some corneal swelling after, so had blurry vision for a while. Most people feel good the next day and vision is clear.
  2. I live in the UK so can't guide on the price, sorry. The surgery itself is painless. I had LASEK which is more invasive but even that was pain free. Your eyes are effectively anaesthatised with drops. Once the laser has done it's job - about 10 seconds - your vision is immediately improved. In my case I had to wear contact lenses for 4 days and these did get uncomfortable. However the LASIK treatment doesn't require this and as I understand it you can be back at work the following day with corrected vision. What I would say is that any discomfort I felt was well worth it. I've had perfect vision now for a year after wearing glasses for 20 years and it is amazing.
