Lasik Eye Correction

Lasik Eye Surgery !!!?

I was wondering about lasik eye surgery, here are a couple of questions. >Im 19 years old, been wearing glasses for 10 years now and i havent needed a new prescription for 3 years now. Can i get Lasik done at this Age? >I am very sensitive when it comes with me eyes, i cant open my eyes under water, i cant put contacts in, i have put drops in once or twice but hate the feeling. Do you think i would be able to handle getting Lasik done.

  1. HONESTLY I MUST SAY THAT I AM NOT A DOCTOR HOWEVBER I HAVE BEEN WEARING GLASSES SINCE I WAS FIVE AND MY EYESIGHT ONLY WORSENS EVERY TWO YEARS WHEN I GO FOR A NEW CHECK UP SO I HAVE DEDICED TO GIVE IT A TRY AND I HAVE FOUND A PLACE THAT DOES THIS AND THE GIVE YOU A COMPLIMENTARY SCREENING TO LET YOU KNOW IF YOUR EYES CAN BE TREATED WITH SUCH A SURGERY SO I HAVE PUT THE NUMBER TO THE PLACE UNDER SOURCES WHERE I GET MY INFORMATION FROM! AND BASICALLY MY ANSWER/ADVICE IS TO GET YOUR EYES SCREENED TO SEE IF THIS IS A POSSIBLITY FOR YOU! [ EXCUSE MY SPEELING ]
  2. I had Lasik surgery done this past year and love it. But, I am 35. Here is what I found about the age thing.... "Who is a good candidate for LASIK? **People older than 18 years **Nearsighted people (Myopes) **Farsighted people (Hyperopes) **People having astigmatism or mixed astigmatism **Suitable presbyopes **If there is a great difference in the dioptric values of the two eyes, then lasik operation can be performed below the age of 18." http://www.lasikinistanbul.com/eng/who_is_a_good_candidate_for_lasik.htm "There are also some standard qualifications for LASIK candidates. You should: — Be 18 years or older and dissatisfied wearing corrective lenses. — Have healthy corneas. — Be nearsighted, farsighted, and/or have astigmatism. — Accept that laser vision correction has limitations. — Have realistic expectations about the procedure." http://www.imperiavision.com/lasik-candidate.html As for being unsure about being able to handle the procedure.....They gave me a Valium, and I didn't really care what they were doing to me. The whole procedure, from the time I layed down until the time I got up, lasted less than 5 minutes. They numb your eyes first, then they put in these devices which keeps the eyelids open. I couldn't see what they were doing, even though my eyes were open. It was like just seeing light, not figures. I had no idea what the eye doctor was doing. The facility where I had my procedure allowed family members and friends to watch on a closed circuit TV. My friend who drove me was amazed at home fast and easy it was! Good luck to you!
