Do you wear eye glasses, would you allow a doctor to take a knife to your eyes, Laysic surgery?
I need glasses, but I don't think I would take a risk of someone taking a knife to my eyes.

- I've had the surgery and it was very very very very very painless, so be careful! You might feel a little uneasiness in your stomach, but that's probably indigestion from lunch. No need to worry!! Plus it's a laser! How cool is that! These are men who devote their lives to the healthy eye.. remember that. You will leave there with them. The healthy eyes, not the doctors. ;P
- i have had the surgery done and it has worked out great
- its not a knife, its a lazer if i had the money i would!! sooo much easier then glasses or contacts i know lots of ppl who have, and they all like it!
- Yes and yes.
- no!!!!!!!!!!
- i would just wear contacts. it is worth the little itch every now and then
- Yes, I want to do it if my eyes get much worse by the time I'm 18.
- never! glasses n contacts r much better n easy
- If I wanted better vision I would. I would rather lose my vision trying to get better vision then sticking to my bad vision.
- I wear glasses and cant wear contacts. And no my dad offered to pay for laysic surgery for me and I had to pass. I can at least put glasses on and see if somehow they screwed up and cut wrong or>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Then well,, no thanks. Good luck and God bless
- my sis has done it she did not even know when the knife went in and was out with a wonderful sight restored now she does not need glasses, go for it worth it
- i wear contacts and glasses occassionally and if i had the extra money laying around i would get the surgery .. they dont cut its with a laser ..i have family members get it done and they only have praise about the procedure and how quick it was and how easy it was
- I used to wear glasses. I did let a doctor take a knife to my eyes. It wasn't painful, but just felt so wrong. But the lasik was wonderful. My vision was better and I don't have to mess with glasses in the rain or cleaning contacts anymore. I'm so glad I got it done. I went with a highly recommended eye doctor who charged a lot, but I felt more comfortable with him than I would have been with another cheaper place. Plus my regular optometrist worked with him on lasiks, so that was a plus. Anyways, it took me a long time to get comfortable with the idea. I asked my optometrist about it and then thought it over for about a year before going ahead with it. I also had several family and friends have very positive experiences, and that helped.
- before i had glasses my vision was bad but i could still see the tv. but now i wear contacts and glasses. but the first year i had contact i was really careless i with them and my vision got worst. well if i could afford it i would get laysic eye surgey becuase i cant lay down and fall asleep to watching tv. if i fall asleep with my contacts in that will be bad for me eyes but if i have my glasses on they get shoved in the side of my face when i lay on my side. so basicly my answer is if you can afford it laysic just do it. if something goes wrong which i hope wouldn't sue them one millions because eye sight is the one thing you cant get back.
- I have had people say it is the best thing ever, but I lack the guts to do that
- i wear glasses sometimes to see hd tv at best and videogames sometimes no surgery try living with an eye patch for one full day thats what it would be like if the doctor messed up most importaint dont depend on your glasses unless your blind as a bat so only wear them when you need them and dont squit it hurts your cornia which makes you need glasses
- Yes, there are risks but for some us it's worth it. Most facilities use a 'blade less' laser only technique which is much more precise and decreases the risk of infection and recovery time for the corneal flap. I developed chronic dry eye after wearing contacts for many years and since glasses don't really fit my lifestyle I decided on lasiks. If you do your research and choose a experienced certified doctor then there isn't 'too' much to worry about. I am thrilled with my results and know several others who are also quite happy!
- i wear contacts and yes im considering laysic
- I took the risk because they don't take a knife to your eyes. The use a blade that cuts and creates a "flap" that is then flipped and they use a laser to correct the vision. It is very painless (no pain at all) because they use numbing eye drops. You only feel pressure, no pain. I would do this all over again to have 20/10 vision that I never would have had even with glasses. Plus, glasses tend to fog up outside. I love being able to see the clock in the morning when I wake up.
- I'm sticking to glasses. I'm over the age of 40 so I will still need corrective lenses, no matter what I do. It's not worth it for me to pay a lot of money to swap one problem for another. Also, I already suffer from dry eyes and this procedure will make it worse.
