Lasik Eye Correction

Eye Problems?

I have been having eye problems on and off for the last 2 years or so. They get really irritated, and they start watering, and even sometimes when they get really bad they begin to pus, and it really hurts. I went to my eye doctor, but he just gave me some allergy medicine, and left it at that, after a while using them, i found they did not work. They would stop the watering, but the pus, and the irritation was still there, so i went back and he took a look and said nothing was physically wrong with my eyes, i most likely had an infection, so he gave me some antibiotics, and a sterioid to help with the inflammation. well after about a week, i was out of medication, and the problem was gone for a good while, about a month or two. During that time i have had dry eye, and would use lubrication drops every now and then, and sometimes the allergy drops, but now it has come back again. Why does this keep happening and how can i get rid of it? I dont want to have to run to a doctor forever. I do beleive it is Blepharitis as well, he gave me eye scrubs, but it does not seem to help very much.

  1. You need to go see an Opthomologist and get this checked out. The best drops for allergies are prescription ones also for dry eyes certain products are recommended and others are not so see an EYE MD aka opthomologist and get this taken care of once and for all.
  2. Sounds like chronic blepharitis. I find eye drops of sulfacetamide and decadron used as needed a great help, as well as hot soaks an hour a day and cleaning of lids daily.
  3. I work in an opticians and the problem you described (probably blepharitis - inflamation of the eyelids) is extremely common. Unfortunately it is the sort of condition which does recur again and again and there is no ultimate cure - but there are certain things you can do to keep it under control. You can scrub your lids with diluted baby shampoo using cotton buds, or you can buy medicated wipes such as Supranettes. The scrubs and wipes need to be used every day (perhaps even twice a day) to really help.
