Eye problems?
The corner of the lower eyelid of my left eye is a bit swollen/reddish and tender, and I'm kind of worried because one of the girls in my school left early today with pink eye, but since my eye isn't actually red, I don't think it's the problem. The eye itself looks okay, and it's barely noticeable, but it hurts a tiny tiny bit every so often when I blink. Additionally, I have a picture of it. It's not gross or disgusting, so don't freak out, lol. http://www.geocities.com/lunatic_tango/eye.JPG I circled the part that was red. No, not on any meds at all. Thanks. Also, any idea of what caused it? All I can think of would be mascara or eyeliner.

- you probably just have some sort of rash are you on any meds? it could be an allergic reaction.
- Probably a sty. Put warm compress on it a couple times a day. It should clear up on its own in a few days
- May I please request that you get an apt. with your dr. asap, or if there is a walk-in clinic, please go there. It may just be a stye, but best to have it looked at by a pro. Take care.
- That is what look to be a sty. I use to get them all the time. I never knew what caused them but it does take some time to clear up. And yes they do hurt and itch. Sometime they get to the the point to where you have to go and get them lanced. But for now the way yours look keep a warm towel on it for a few minutes at a time. It will help, and also go to you local CVS Store or Osco or the store of your choice and get what is called STY cream and follow the directions on it, The cream will help.
- you have a stye. Start doing warm compresses a few times a day untill you can get to your eye doctor and start antibiotics
- you have something called a chalazion. In greek, that means tiny lump. In effect, you have clogged up one of your meibomian glands (which is a type of oil gland in your eyelid). You probably need a combination of antibiotics and warm compresses to soften up the trapped to tissue so that it can be squeezed out. And by the way,. you don't have a stye. A stye is a much more commonly known ailment which is an infected hair follicle. The thickening in your eyelid is too far from the eyelid margin (where your lashes are) to be a stye.
