Eye problems?

My eyes are always itchy and watery and red. I always get these stringy things in my eyes that put out from the part of your eye where the lids meet the eye does anyone else have this problem?

  1. go see a dr. and stop touching your eyes. Wash your hands after you touch your eyes so if there is an infection you don't spread it to others or to other parts of your body (like ears, mouth, nose or genitals). good luck
  2. It's probably allergies you should see your doctor.
  3. i work for an eye dr it sounds like allergic conjuctivites go see dr or get over the counter allery eye drops like Opcon A for allergy eyes good luck oh also get some refresh tears for times when you cant use the allergy drops
  4. did you recently buy new: Mascara, make up, face soap, shampoo? Did you wear contacts? Did you change your solution? It could be anyone of of these if you recently started having eye problems. I know I had a serious eye infection years ago from not being fitted properly with contact lenses, it was too tight! I also recently had an eye infection from a new mascara that I couldn't stop tearing and every morning I couldn't open my eyes, it'd be crusted together. So I threw out my new mascara, face soap, and contact solution. I didn't wear my contacts for two weeks and it healed on it's own! (Plus I couldn't afford the doctor bill either). I went back to all my old stuff which worked. So I say; Why fix something that's not broken?!
  5. It sounds to me like you have Conjunctivitis What Are the Symptoms of Conjunctivitis? Burning, itchy eyes that discharge a thick, sticky mucus may indicate bacterial conjunctivitis. Copious tears, a swollen lymph node and a light discharge of mucus from one eye are signs of viral conjunctivitis. People with viral conjunctivitis often have symptoms of an upper respiratory infection or cold. Redness, intense itching and tears in both eyes may indicate allergic conjunctivitis. Inflamed red bumps are usually visible on the underside of the upper eyelid, in people with giant papillary conjunctivitis (GPC). Most people affected by GPC wear hard contact lenses. Call Your Doctor If: You physically injured your eye. Eye injuries can become infected and lead to corneal ulcers, which lead to irreversible vision loss. Your eyes become red when you wear contact lenses. Remove the lenses immediately and see your ophthalmologist; you may have a corneal infection. The redness in your eye is affecting your vision and is accompanied by severe pain or excessive yellow or green discharge. You may have a bacterial infection. Your conjunctivitis frequently recurs or appears to be getting worse after three days of home treatment; you may have a bacterial or viral infection. Your newborn baby's eyes are red or produce a discharge. This may indicate ophthalmia neonatorum, which must be treated immediately to prevent permanent eye damage.
