eye problems?

when i get up my eyes are really red sometimes theyve got discharge ive been to the docs.. not conjunctivitis sometimes the discharge goes onto my eye and i cant see.. and its gooey.[lol] its really irritating. any ideas on what it is/what to do sometimes i wear contact lenses and have trouble with them coz sometimes mainy on my right eye discharge goes onto them or it doesnt move with my eye my eyes can run loads too

1. Well... it may be a problem with the mucus-secreting glands or the membomian glands ( which secretes an oily fluid).. Otherwise it can be a problem with the aqueous humour (watery fluids behind the cornea), which there may be a tear. Otherwise, its either a symptom of endopthalmitis (infections in the eye) or keratomalacia (corneal softening and disintegration) of the eye. It can also be caused by corneal infections due to contact lenses or the solution or glaucoma(fluid in eyes at abnormally high pressure). Or even dusts. Get an eye examination and an investigation of visual field. Check for colour perception or abrasions. Examine the inside of the eye.
2. I bet you have pets. Dander is an irritant. Also, this is gross, but dust mite droppings in your bedding cause the problems you are describing. Change the bedding and steam clean the mattress or put on a mattress pad and see what happens. Go to an optometrist anyway, even if you have perfect vision. There are many problems that can occur in the eye without your even knowing. Have your eyes professionally checked every year or two weather you think you need it or not. Your vision is worth the investment in the exams.
