Lasik Eye Correction

85 year old father needs eye surgery , is this a big risk?

Im not sure what kind of surgery he has to have but he has cater ax . I want to know if theres a big chance he wont come out of this . If so , I need to let him know before he goes through with this so he does his will . He is in pretty good condition health wise for someone his age , but this is his main problem . Im sorry , i made that sound like i was more interested in what hes leaving me . I just want everything to be set up so no one fights over anything .

  1. Cataract surgery now days is commonplace and very low risk with excellent outcome generally in terms of vision. I have at least three relatives who have had both eyes done with minimal discomfort, downtime and no complications.
  2. cataract is done under local anaesthetic
  3. Cataract surgery is not very invasive....they will numb his eyes, but he will not be put under...he will be awake for the procedure, but will feel nothing. Even though there are risks for any medical procedure no matter what age, this particual one is not risky. He should pull through it just fine.
