Laser eye surgery?

How effective is laser eye surgery and how much does it cost? What are the risks?

1. If I remember right it could correct your vision for many years, I am unsure the costs as it can vary alot, The risks are you can go blind or worse eye sight. Is it worth it? I would say yes
2. It can be very effective, and I know several people who have had it done who were happy. However, I worked as an optometric assistant for four years, and the overwhelming opinion among the many doctors of my acquaintance was that they would NOT have it done, simply because it is a new procedure, and the long-term effects have yet to be studied. There are new complications cropping up all the time. Aside from that, I know why I personally would not have the surgery done: with contacts, my vision is 20/15, yet with the surgery, that is not guaranteed. Many people are lucky to get an acuity of 20/25 or 20/30, and with that, I would want to have driving glasses...which just defeats the point.
