  1. sorry this doesn't answer your question...just wanted to say i really want it done too but i keep getting too scared
  2. I've had it done, both eyes, excellent results. Depends on the problem with your eyes though. It's not suitable for everyone. You could always seek a second opinion. .
  3. My mom got it and now she has 20/20 vision. She's happy with the results. They have a few check-ups to make sure you won't get any infections... The 1st couple of weeks after the procedure sucks though, because you have to drip these things in your eyes every few hours.. and you're not allowed to do anything but sleep and wear a goggle.. but I think it's totally worth it. You should make an appointment with the people at LASIK and talk about the risks.
  4. my wife and i did it 6 years ago. It was the best thing we did as we both had glasses since early years. So, in principle, go for it. However, you have to select the clnic and doctor carefully. Don't go for lowest price, these are your eyes so choose the one with most experience and good reputation. Secondly, the doctor will have to do several tests and examinations on your eyes to see if they can handle the Lsek and will get the benefit from it. I basically couldn't see a thing without my glasses and always dreamt of watching tv late at night without the worry of damaging my glasses from falling asleep on the side of the pillow. Or even seeing my haircut in the mirror when the barber asks me what i think (ofcourse i would be without my glasses then). I wish you a successful Lasek and life will be so different after it. Just keep in mind the suffering for few days after the lasek as you can;t rub it, wqueeze it or get water on it.
  5. Well, here is my story. I have had eye problems since I was 9. I started wearing glasses and hated them. When I turned 12 I got contacts. My prescription was - 5.75. I was very irresponsible taking them out every single night. I finally decided at age 23 to get lasik.. and it was the best thing I have ever done. The procedure was 30 seconds long, depending on how bad your eyes are. Obviously, mine was really bad. Yours probably won't be as long.. I could see perfectly right after it was done. Don't have anything wrong now and that was 3 years ago. Your eye doctor doesn't want you to get it b/c he knows that he won't make anymore money off of you when you get it done... I haven't had to go to an eye doctor since lasik... Hope this helps!!!!!!!
  6. I haven't had it done myself but I have a close friend who did. To cut a long story short, it went wrong and now she's only got sight in the eye that wasn't lasered. The damaged eye is only good now for seeing blurry shapes and eyesight can't be improved by glasses or contact lenses. I'm not trying to scare you off or anything but I just had to tell you my friend's story so that you won't think that it's a risk free procedure.
  7. I have it done, brilliant dead chuffed with the results, like everything it has side effects, but i have been fine. took me many years to pluck up the courage and truly wish i had it done years ago.
