better lasik plus centers of private practice?
i went to see a private practice and i'm planning on getting my lasik surgery next friday, i cant decide if i can trust going to chains like lasik plus. they are a lot cheaper than going to a private practice. of course i know if i go to lasik plus for a consult, they'll say they're safe yada yada yada. help. don't know what to do if you can tell me the pros and cons for both private n plus center, that'll be great!!! Thanks in advance

- IN THE CENTER THERE ARE LOTS OF PROS.IT IS THE OTHER WAY AROUND WITH A PRIVATE. THE CENTER HAS MORE FACILITIES. I HAD MY EYES LASERED IN A CENTER. THAT WAS ABOUT LESS THAN 15 YEARS AGO. I CAN STILL READ CORRECTLY.
- You must be so excited! I just got mine done last year at a Lasik clinic, and I still find it weird that I can see!! Anyways I can let you know a bit about my experience, it may be helpful to you. Pro:The surgery worked well- obviously I can see perfectly! Pro: They are very thorough will all pre screening measures to ensure you are a good candidate. Pro:Surgeon has performed thousands of surgeries. Pro: You can get insurance, so that if your eyes revert back at all you can have it done again at no cost. Con: My appointment was for 12:00- didn't get it done until 4:30. At this point I was definitely freaking out a bit, I passed out twice after the procedure in the operating room. My nerves just got the best of me- this is definitely NOT a typical experience, but I think waiting so long was not good. They rush through everyone- almost like assembly line care. Because I do not have any experience with a private practice I can't say much about them? I am sure you would get better care, and you wouldn't have to wait for hours to get it done. They would also likely provide more care directly after the surgery. I actually just thought of this- the surgeons at Lasik actually perform more surgeries so maybe they would be better because they have more experience? Just a thought? The reason I didn't go to a private facility was the cost, they were more than twice the cost!! But then I think- I would have had a better experience at the private clinic- probably wouldn't have had to wait, and wouldn't have fainted twice!! But it was just one day out of my life, and I am just happy I can see. Good Luck, let us know how it works out!
