Lasik Eye Correction

What are the post lasik results of people who had pre lasik scripts of more than -6.00?

I recently had Lasik a week ago with a a pre-lasik prescription of -6.5 to -7.00 with astigmatism. I would like to know of the experiences/results of people who have had the procedure done, with a similar pre-script grade like mine. I am currently still experiencing haloes, reduction in visual sharpness (blurriness) in low light areas & close up, & occasionally distance reading. I would like to know how long it took for others to recover, or if they have needed retreatment post lasik?

1. Performed in the US with the double-laser process. (one laser to make the corneal flap and the 2nd laser to remove the excess corneal tissue): Pre-lasik - 8 to -8.5 with astigmatism. Post-lasik -2.25 and -2.75 The corneal specialist who performed the procedure offered to further "fine-tune" the vision for free, but my family member felt that more tuning was not necessary to see well. She experiences haloes around lights at night. Doctor suggested glasses made of Crisal brand anti-reflective coating, which helps the halos, but does not eliminate them entirely. So I suggested she have the lenses also put in that would correct her to less than -2.75, -2.25, with the crisal brand. Now she uses those glasses for driving only because it cuts the glare and she can see signs better. In the summer, she uses precription (to further correct the -2.75,-2.5) sunglasses with polarized lenses for driving. It has been two years since the lasik and the vision (without driving glasses) has been stable. We knew going into the surgery that 100% correction of vision was possible, but unlikely since she was -8ish. She is thrilled not to have to wear thick lenses anymore. So is husband. Husband also had it done at age 49!. He was a (-12) and I don't know what he is now, but doesn't wear glasses at all (except RX polarized sunglasses that I insist he wear for summer driving). He was also offered "free extra tweaking" but declined.
2. Lasik is often more of a six-month process than a "20 Minute Miracle". When you have a high refractive error, the probability of a slower vision recovery and the need for enhancement surgery is elevated. It is also possible that you were corrected to plano and have regressed to become slightly myopic.
