  1. I am not sure I can be of much help, but I think laser eye surgery is suppose to last forever, but usually doesn't. I have horrible eyes. -9 and -10. I'm too scared to get it though! I could be completely wrong though. So....I'd wait to see others.
  2. My friend had it and now she can see out the back of her head.
  3. Been there. Had it done. I can't tell you what correction level I was in diopters previous to having it done. I wasn't corrected. I can tell you that I couldn't read the PowerPoint presentations from the back of the auditorium. I went to eight (hey! they're my EYES) different lasik specialists before choosing. And learned that my left eye was 20/40 and that the right was 20/70. Keep in mind that I've been watching DH work thru different optical prescriptions for years. I'm not doing the headaches, shifting between contacts and eyeglasses ad nauseum. I also SCUBA dive. Pressure is important. So, I did it. I'm nearly 42. Lifetime? At 26? Who knows? You'll still have to deal with old age and eyes...which means that your irises will become less and less plastic. You'll enjoy easy vision for at least 16 years though. Considering advances in eye correction technology, that would be (and was) enough for me*. *Who, at nearly 42 is a fuzzy 20/25. Happy as a clam and can dive to 140 fearlessly.
  4. Its not worth the risks for you With -1.25, you probably can manage 20/40 to 20/50 without glasses LASIK's definition of success is 20/40 post-operation. 1) You may not appreciate the minor improvemnt after LASIK 2) For a 1-2 lines of improvement, it is not worth the risk 3) Even the eye surgeon may not advise you to go for it
