How much should cherry eye surgery cost?

We are getting the surgery where they tuck the gland back in the eye.

1. why is this on pets?
2. In my area, as well as where I moved from, it costs about $250..If you can find a basset hound breeder in your area, they would be most likely to know the best local vet for this..
3. I don't know the exact cost but its a pretty routine surgery so it shouldn't be too much.
4. I have lots of experience with Cherry eye removal. In my area....If you do it while the dog is being spayed/neutered then you don't have to pay for the anesthesia so Its only an additional $50 for both eyes.
5. just so you know without surgery for this painful condition the dog could go blind and/or lose its eye check a few vets to get an estimate and do it asap!!!
