Can Lasik be preformed after PRK?
I had PRK 12 years ago, can I have LASIK now? I had corrective eye surgery in 1996. At the time it was PRK as Lasik was a brand new procedure. Since then my eyes have gotten worse so I really need glasses to drive. Since Lasik is now pretty reasonably priced. I was wondering if Lasik can be done over PRK? I was a very good candidate for the PRK back in the day with strong thick corneas, so I’m assuming they are still OK. Thanks! Jim J

- That would be something interresting to find out about. I have not heard of this being an issue on a regular basis, but I am not a doctor. I think that other factors might be more important like your tear layer and your current corneal thickness. Are you still in touch with the Doctor that did your prior surgery? They might do a free consultation if they are still around.
